Interested in Joining Our Program?

Our mentors range in age from 21 to 87 (and increasing) with a passion for aviation and an interest in sharing their time, knowledge, and skills with young teens.  You too will learn a lot from the process and feel great about helping mold students into our future aviation and military professionals.  You don't need to be a pilot or have an aviation background to join.

We meet every Saturday from approximately 9:00am - Noon to build our aircraft with the teens.  We also participate in the Young Eagles Program on the second Saturday of each month.  In season, a subset of the mentors also meet on Wednesdays to work on building/repairing other aircrafts.

Steps to join as a mentor for Teen Aircraft Factory of Manasota:

 

1. Contact us at TeenAircraftFactory@gmail.com to express your interest in becoming a member.  Let us know your reason for interest, your experience and availability for commitment to helping as a mentor.

2. Join EAA national organization

3. Join EAA Chapter 180 for Sarasota

   1. This is needed for insurance purposes for Teen Aircraft - must be a member to be covered by our EAA Chapter insurance

4. Complete training with the EAA youth protection program:

   2. Get certificate of completion
