Young Eagles Program

Launched in 1992, the Young Eagles program has dedicated more than 25 years to giving youth ages 8–17 their first free ride in an airplane.  It’s the only program of its kind, with the sole mission to introduce and inspire kids in the world of aviation.  Today, more than 2 million young people have enjoyed a free introductory flight through the Young Eagles program. Typically, our local chapter flies over 200 youths each year.  

 

TAFM helps sponsor the EAA Chapter 180 Young Eagle Program by offering complementary flights to area youths in the Sarasota/Bradenton area.  On the second Saturday of each month (weather permitting), from 8:00 - 11:00, we offer each child, tween and teen the opportunity to experience the spirit of aviation by joining our volunteer pilots in a free flight from Sarasota Airport.

At 8:00 a.m. we begin accepting registration forms at our Young Eagles table in the lobby.  Plan your breakfast accordingly as our sponsoring facility, Universal Flight, does not allow any food brought in from outside.

 

NOTE: Park in the lot just north of Universal Flight at 8100 15th Street East.
